In Week 8, No. 18 Iowa hosted Maryland in a Big Ten clash.

The Terrapins have certainly had its ups this season, but the team was 4-2 for a reason. Inconsistency has plagued Maryland. And on Saturday against Iowa, the game wasn’t close.

The Hawkeyes won 23-0, keeping Maryland to just 115 total yards. Kirk Ferentz’s group came ready to play, apparently. After the game, he spoke to that:

Of course teams have to go out and play the game. But, a team can be coming off a hard-hitting, emotional roller-coaster of a game one week and then follow it up with a dud. It happens all the time.

Iowa was ready for Maryland. The preparation throughout the week was sound, and it showed on Saturday. Sometimes, it just takes the right mindset.
