Kirk Ferentz updated the media on the status of Jermari Harris on Tuesday. It’s not looking good for the Iowa DB per Chad Leistikow of the Des Moines Register.
Ferentz confirmed that Harris will be missing the rest of the season. Harris missed the season opener after getting suspended for an OWI arrest back in April.
Harris will be missing the season for medical reasons. He had 4 interceptions last season for Iowa, and Ferentz will miss the leadership he had on the field.
“He’s been a real good team leader for us,” said Ferentz.
Kirk Ferentz says CB Jermari Harris is out for the year (medical). “He’s been a real good team leader for us.”

Harris had not seen the field yet this season, along with Nico Ragaini and Keagan Johnson. Harris has appeared in 20 games since joining Iowa in 2019. Hopefully, more news will come about the status of all three of these key players for the Hawkeyes.
