Kirk Ferentz enters Kinnick Stadium to 50 Cent in first Iowa game since suspension
Kirk Ferentz is back.
The longtime Iowa head coach served a 1-game suspension after the program self-reported a minor recruiting violation tied to the transfer of Cade McNamara from Michigan.
With Ferentz off the sideline in Week 1, Iowa — under acting head coach Seth Wallace and new OC Tim Lester — had one of its best offensive showings in a while, a 40-0 win over Illinois State.
Week 2 will be different: it’s the Cy-Hawk game against Iowa State, the 71st meeting between the in-state rivals. And if Ferentz and the Hawkeyes are looking to turn the page from 2023, they’re looking to do it in a big way, straight down to the in-stadium music over the PA system at Kinnick Stadium that played when Ferentz entered the field.
Here’s video below as Ferentz walked in to 50 Cent’s “Many Men”:

Who knows? Maybe the 69-year-old Ferentz has been a 50 Cent fan all this time and never let anybody know. Although, if the Hawkeyes win on Saturday, it might not be the last time we hear the song at Kinnick.
