Iowa has seen an uptick in production from freshman wide receiver Keagan Johnson recently. Because of this, Johnson has slowly moved up the depth chart in the last few weeks. He’s even listed ahead of Tyron Tracy Jr., who has been with the team since 2018.

Johnson made his first career reception with the Hawkeyes in the Colorado State game in Week 4, and has been a reliable target ever since. Johnson has 316 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns on the year.

Head coach Kirk Ferentz addressed the decision to move Johnson up the depth chart Tuesday afternoon per 247Sports’ David Eickholt.

We’ll see if the depth chart move effects the way Johnson plays on Saturday. No. 17 Iowa (8-2) and Illinois (4-6) play at 2 p.m. ET on FS1.
