Kirk Ferentz has cashed in on a contract bonus at the same time the Hawkeyes have become bowl-eligible. Iowa defeated Wisconsin on Saturday, 42-10, pushing the team to a total of 6 wins for the 2024 season.

It’s exactly the type of dominant complete win the team would want as they, like every other competitive team in college football, look to make the most of the home stretch of the season with postseason implications getting more and more serious by the week.

Ferentz’s bonus for achieving the feat is a $100,000 check. At 69 years old, he is one of the oldest head coaches in college football, but it’s clear that his age is not getting to him where the success of the team is concerned. And it doesn’t look like he has any intention to leave the sidelines any time soon.

Ferentz and the Hawkeyes will look to stay on the right side of the win column as they face the UCLA Bruins on the road at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 8. The rest of the schedule for Ferentz’s team will be composed of a road contest against the Maryland Terrapins on Nov. 23 and the chance to round things out at home against the Nebraska Cornhuskers own Nov. 29
