Iowa is 2-0 after the first two weeks of the season and thanks to a Week 2 bye, Iowa state is 1-0.
The Cyclones aren’t ranked, but the Hawkeyes are No. 19 in the latest AP top 25 poll. With that, ESPN’s College GameDay has chosen to go to Ames, Iowa for the Hawkeyes-Cyclones matchup.

The Cy-Hawk rivalry is always a heated one and the atmosphere for College GameDay should prove to be an electric one.
Ahead of the matchup, which is slated for a 4 p.m. ET kickoff on Saturday, Kirk Ferentz provided multiple injury updates on Tuesday:
Kirk says Kaevon Merriweather won’t play on Saturday but Geno Stone is fine. Kirk also says Cole Banwart should be in the o-line rotation on Saturday. Alaric is making progress.

Kaevon Merriweather, a defensive back, is being ruled as out by Ferentz, while fellow DB Geno Stone is “fine.” Cole Banwart, an OL, will be in the rotation, while Alaric Jackson, a left tackle, is “making progress.”
Iowa won’t be at 100 percent for the Cy-Hawk rivalry, but it’s likely that Iowa State won’t be perfectly healthy, either. The term “next man up” is a known one for a reason.
That will be the case Saturday afternoon.
