Kirk Ferentz is in rare air.

With Iowa’s 20-13 win over Iowa State on Saturday, the Hawkeye head coach picked up his 200th career victory. According to The Athletic’s Scott Dochterman, Ferentz is just the 27th FBS head coach to reach that threshold.

Ferentz won 12 games as the Maine head coach from 1990-92. He’s up to 188 career wins in the Big Ten, sitting fourth all-time.

Ferentz is six wins away from tying Bo Schembechler for third all-time in the Big Ten. He’s also approaching the legendary Woody Hayes.

Iowa jumped out to a 17-0 lead over Iowa State on Saturday, en route to its sixth consecutive win over the Cyclones in Ames.

Next up is a home contest with Western Michigan. After that, Iowa travels to Penn State for a massive, late-night showdown in Happy Valley.
