Kirk Ferentz is preparing his Iowa football team to face a new QB1 at Penn State, Drew Allar.

In his first 3 games, Allar has already home and away environments, along with 1 B1G defense. The Nittany Lions have faced West Virginia and Delaware at home, while going on the road for their conference opener at Illinois.

Ferentz is impressed by what he has seen from Allar on film. The long-time Hawkeye head coach noted that the Penn State quarterback does not appear to get rattled or play too emotionally.

So far this season, Allar has completed 67% of his passes (59-of-88) for 737 yards and 4 touchdowns, with no interceptions. He has rushed 15 times so far for 52 yards and a TD.

Allar’s best passing numbers came in Penn State’s season-opening victory over West Virginia. Allar threw for 325 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 38-15 win for James Franklin’s squad.

Iowa will be the first opponent to take on Allar and the Nittany Lions this season. No. 24 Iowa vs. No. 7 Penn State is set for 7:30 p.m. ET from Beaver Stadium, airing on CBS.
