There may have been mixed results around the B1G in Week 3, but at least one coach stood out for leading his team to victory.

As he traditionally does each week, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit unveiled his list of top team performances and coaches from all the weekend action. While a number of B1G teams disappointed against non-conference competition, one coach stood out to Herbstreit.

He had Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz at the top of his list for most impressive coaching performances for the win over Iowa State. The Hawkeyes won 18-17 in Ames, but the coaching performance goes beyond just the action on the field for Ferentz. He had to keep Iowa focused and locked in through two weather delays which is never an easy task.

Unfortunately, there were a few representatives on Herbstreit’s list for their work against B1G teams. He had Arizona State and Temple at No. 3 and No. 4 of most impressive teams of the weekend for wins over Michigan State and Maryland respectively. TCU head coach Gary Patterson also made an appearance on Herbstreit’s list for the win over Purdue.
