Iowa was one of the top stories of Week 2, and for good season!
Not only did the Hawkeyes roll into Ames and secure a road upset of their in-state rival, but the way Kirk Ferentz’s squad came away with the win was impressive. The Iowa defense produced a suffocating performance in the second half that eventually led to the benching of Iowa State QB Brock Purdy after 3 interceptions.
During his Monday recap of the weekend, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit highlighted what the Hawkeyes were able to do in Week 2. Herbstreit listed Iowa as the second-best performing team of the weekend, just behind Oregon for the Ducks’ upset of Ohio State:

Herbstreit also selected 6 coaches/coaching tandems to highlight with head coach Kirk Ferentz and defensive coordinator Phil Parker recognized. The duo was third on Herbstreit’s list behind Oregon’s Mario Cristobal and Joe Moorehead and Stanford’s David Shaw:

Hopefully, the Hawkeyes can keep rolling after a 2-0 start to the season. They will face Kent State and Colorado State over the next two weeks before resuming B1G play.
