Iowa pulled it off, mounting an incredible comeback vs. Nebraska to move to 10-2 on the season.

For much of the afternoon, it appeared the Huskers were headed for a signature victory to end the year, all while playing without starting QB Adrian Martinez. Backup QB Logan Smothers finished with 269 yards of offense and 2 rushing touchdowns.

Fortunately, the Hawkeyes woke up after falling behind 21-6 in the third quarter. Iowa would finish the game on a streak of 22-unanswered points for the 7-point win with a blocked punt touchdown, intentional grounding safety, and game-clinching interception late in the fourth. Needless to say, Iowa’s comeback truly had it all.

The win also gave the Hawkeyes their 7th straight in the rivalry series with Scott Frost falling to 0-4 vs. Iowa. Nebraska has lost those 4 games by a total of 19 points.

After the win, Iowa decided to get in a nice jab at the Huskers and the red balloon tradition specifically:

Another Black (& Gold) Friday, indeed.
