LOOK: Iowa fans are outraged that Rutgers’ punter didn’t earn B1G Special Teams Player of the Week

Well here’s a new one: Iowa fans are actually so impressed with an opponent’s performance, they are demanding that the B1G give the kid some credit.

On Monday, the B1G announced the weekly conference Player of the Week awards — handing out one for the offensive, defensive, freshman and special teams players that shined in Week 2. Ohio State’s Drue Chrisman was tabbed as the Special Teams Player of the Week, but Hawkeye fans believe it should be Rutgers punter Adam Korsak.

In Rutgers’ 30-0 loss to Iowa on Saturday, Korsak punted the ball 10 times for a total of 476 yards (47.6 yards per punt average). But it was the fact that he pinned the Hawkeyes inside their own 15-yard line so many times throughout the game, that was so impressive. Four of those landed inside the 5-yard line.

Korsak easily should’ve earned at least a share of the honors. And when he didn’t, Hawkeye fans leaped to his defense on Twitter:
