LOOK: Iowa unveils "Bold Gold" uniforms for Penn State game
Iowa doesn’t steer away from its traditional uniform look too often, but when it does, it goes with a bold new approach. In fact, that’s the theme for the latest alternate uniform combination the Hawkeyes will sport in 2019.
On Thursday night, Iowa unveiled a new uniform look it will sport in the 2019 season. The Hawkeyes will don an all-gold jersey and pants combination, while keeping a more traditional helmet look.
The yellow stripe down the center of Iowa’s traditional black helmet with the golden TigerHawk logo appears to be a touch wider, as well. Here’s a look Iowa’s alternate uniform combination for 2019:

Iowa will wear these “Bold Gold” uniforms for the Oct. 12 matchup against Penn State.
In 2017, the Hawkeyes broke out a brand new look in a marquee matchup against Ohio State in a home game at Kinnick Stadium. Iowa defeated the Buckeyes 55-24 that Saturday.
We’ll see if these golden uniforms bring the Hawkeyes any luck against Penn State this fall.
