Kirk Ferentz was on the sideline for the entirety of the Nebraska-Iowa game on Friday afternoon. But somehow, the head coach might’ve actually taken the hardest hit.
Following Iowa’s thrilling 31-28 victory over Nebraska on Miguel Recinos’ game-winning field goal, players couldn’t help but storm the field and celebrate with one another. What else are you supposed to do after ending the season with a win over your rival for the fourth straight season?
But Iowa quarterback Nate Stanley might’ve been a little too intense when it came to the post-game celebration. His enthusiasm left his head coach bloodied after the game.
In the post-game interview, Ferentz said he took a shot from Stanley, who inadvertently headbutted him while celebrating.
No, Kirk Ferentz isn't wearing lipstick.

Ferentz didn’t seem to mind. Those kind of things are a little less painful in a victory.
Iowa ended the year with an 8-4 record and will now wait to hear its bowl destination. Hopefully Ferentz is fully healed by the Hawkeyes’ postseason game.
