Iowa fans may not be able to cheer on the Hawkeyes this weekend, but the can certainly still root against the in-state rival Cyclones.
Under the original 2020 college football schedule, this weekend was dedicated to the annual Iowa-Iowa State game. With the B1G deciding to punt on a fall football schedule and the Big 12 moving forward, the Hawkeyes are left on the sideline while the Cyclones are on the field.
But Iowa fans had reason to cheer on Saturday, when Louisiana return man Chris Smith torched the Iowa State special teams unit, returning a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown.

The touchdown tied the game at 7-7.
Louisiana has given Iowa State plenty of trouble through the first half in Ames. The 23rd-ranked Cyclones owned jut a 4-point advantage through two quarters, taking a 14-10 lead into halftime.
Iowa fans can still cheer for an upset.
