Luka Garza becomes consensus National Player of the Year after winning Wooden Award
Luka Garza is the consensus National Player of the Year in college basketball.
Garza was named the winner of the 2021 Wooden Award, sweeping the National Player of the Year honors for the college basketball season. He also won the Naismith Award, Oscar Robertson, NABC, Sporting News, Lute Olson and Associated Press honors.
The announcement of Garza winning the award came on Tuesday evening, a day after the national championship. It is presented annually to the most outstanding player in college basketball.

Garza averaged 24.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game for the Hawkeyes, leading the team in both statistical categories. He also averaged 1.7 assists and 1.6 blocks per game. The Iowa star finished the year with 13 double-doubles.
Iowa ended the season 22-9, finishing third in the B1G standings and earning a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
