Lukas Van Ness has been projected as a first round talent in the 2023 NFL Draft. He confirmed whether or not he’s considering heading to the NFL on Tuesday at a press conference.
Van Ness might be projected to go in the first round, but that’s not what he’s thinking about at the moment. The Iowa DL stated that he has no interest in leaving the Hawkeyes just yet.
“I haven’t even looked into that yet,” said Van Ness. “I think that’s a decision that’ll have to be made and looked at after the season. But I love this program, I love it here, and I have no interest in leaving.”

Van Ness has played in 11 games for Iowa this season. He has 31 total tackles, 9 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks. His 5.5 sacks are second on the team.
It looks like Van Ness is more so worrying about finishing off the regular season before thinking about what’s next for his career.
Iowa faces Nebraska in its final regular season game Friday at 4 p.m. ET on BTN.
