Week 2 is featuring a number of intriguing games for Big Ten teams.

Iowa-Iowa State is certainly one of them. The game doesn’t feature a Big Ten clash, but it does feature two teams that absolutely hate each other. The winner gets the Cy-Hawk Trophy.

Saturday morning, on ESPN’s College GameDay, the crew went around talking about the in-state rivalry. They also loosely gave their picks as to who will win the football game. Here are the results:

  • Desmond Howard: Iowa
  • David Pollack: Iowa State
  • Kirk Herbstreit: Iowa

Two of the three are going with the Hawkeyes, which shouldn’t be an enormous surprise. Iowa is favored by 3.5 points to win the game. It is a rivalry game, though, hence the close betting line.

Iowa State is also no slouch. In 2017, the Hawkeyes finished with an 8-5 overall record. The Cyclones went 8-5 as well.

Last season’s game between the two teams went down to the wire, ending in a 44-41 victory for Iowa. This game can go either way, as with many hated rivalries.

The Iowa-Iowa State game is slated for a 5 p.m. kickoff on Saturday at Kinnick Stadium. The game will be televised on FOX.
