Mekhi Sargent did not get drafted this year, but he is getting a long look in preseason action with the Tennessee Titans.

After wrapping up his career with the Hawkeyes in 2020, Sargent entered the 2021 NFL Draft but was not selected. He landed with the Titans as an undrafted free agent, and he has seen a lot of playing time through two games.

Sargent did not score in the preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons, but he got on the board in the first half against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On a short 4th-down play, Sargent caught a pass and was able to beat the defense to the pylon:

That catch went down as a five-yard touchdown. He also has 35 yards on 8 carries with halftime approaching. In the preseason opener, Sargent carried the ball 16 times for 58 yards.

Star running back Derrick Henry will receive the majority of the carries in Tennessee, but there is a possibility Sargent could make the team as a reserve on the depth chart. We will have to wait and see if he survives the second round of roster cuts on Tuesday.
