Iowa has historically owned the series against Northwestern, but the Wildcats have won the last three contests. On Tuesday, Iowa’s key players shared what they need to do in order to end their losing streak versus Northwestern.

“Northwestern is a well-coached team, just like we are,” said Iowa running back Mekhi Sargent. “It’s going to come down to who plays the smartest the longest and who plays physical football.”

Hawkeyes quarterback Nate Stanley echoed those sentiments, calling to the physicality of the Northwestern defense.

While the two Iowa offensive playmakers didn’t mention the three-game losing streak in the series, Hawkeyes defensive end Cedrick Lattimore brought it up.

Iowa and Northwestern will kick off in Evanston at 12 pm ET on Saturday.
