Nick DeJong has been a staple on the offensive line for Iowa the last few seasons and that’s not going to change in 2024 as he’ll be back for another year.

DeJong has played in 44 games over the last 5 seasons for the Hawkeyes. He earned an All-B1G selection this season for his efforts between the trenches.

Here’s what DeJong had to say about the decision to Iowa fans:

“Coming to the University of Iowa 5 years ago has proven to be a dream come true. My time over these 5 years has provided me with relationships and lessons I will carry with me for the rest of my life,” said DeJong. “I have been especially blessed to be surrounded by so many great teammates and coaches, and to be a part of a team led by such a great leader in Coach Ferentz. There’s more on the table, and I can’t walk away from a place like this. I am excited to announce that I will be returning to fight alongside my brothers in the black and gold one more year.”

The Hawkeyes travel to Orlando, Florida to face Tennessee in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day after a 10-3 finish. The two last played in the 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl.
