Nico Ragaini spoke his mind, and the Big Ten did not appreciate it.

The Iowa wide receiver went on an explicit Tuesday about a controversial no-call in the Cy-Hawk Trophy game against Iowa State in Week 2. The B1G issued a public reprimand on Wednesday, citing the conference’s sportsmanship policy.

Big Ten Conference Agreement 10.01 states in part that “The Big Ten Conference expects all contests involving a member institution to be conducted without compromise to any fundamental element of sportsmanship. Such fundamental elements include integrity of the competition, civility toward all, and respect, particularly toward opponents and officials.”

The Big Ten Conference considers this matter concluded.

Ragaini was asked if he felt pass interference should have been called on an interception of Cade McNamara.

“Was it pass interference? Yeah, you know what, I feel like: What, is the NCAA or Big Ten gonna fine me if I say that’s a horse(bleep) (bleeping) call or what? Yeah, I don’t know,” said Ragaini. “I probably shouldn’t have dropped an F-bomb in there but (bleeped), Jesus. It’s whatever.”

Ragaini is in his sixth year. He has 4 catches for 44 yards so far on the season. Iowa hosts Western Michigan for a 3:30 p.m. ET contest on Saturday, airing on the Big Ten Network.
