Ever since Iowa tight ends Noah Fant and T.J. Hockenson both declared for the NFL Draft, several experts have considered them to be first-round prospects. It’s absolutely unheard of for a school to produce that kind of talent at that position.

And, just in case you doubted that both Fant and Hockenson are wort the hype, they are absolutely owning the NFL Combine.

The two Hawkeye tight ends took the field in Indianapolis on Saturday to show off their skills at the position. It’s pretty clear that they’re impressing the scouts.

Both Fant and Hockenson ranked in the top three in four of five drills at the combine, and went No. 1 and No. 2 in the three-cone drill, vertical and broad jumps. The two were also in the top three in the short shuttle runs.

Fant posted the best 40 time among tight ends.

Here are the numbers from Saturday.

Those are just ridiculous scores. Anyone doubting both guys are deserving of first-round status now?

Fant and Hockenson were worth the hype, and Iowa is closing in on Tight End U status. It’s certainly been fun watching the former Hawkeyes put on a show in Indianapolis.
