Pat Fitzgerald walks sidelines at Week 5 B1G game
Pat Fitzgerald was fired as head coach at Northwestern this offseason in the middle of a hazing investigation into his football program. Since then, he has reportedly been a volunteer parent assistant for Loyola Academy this fall, but Fitzgerald resurfaced in the B1G Saturday night.
Fitzgerald was spotted on the field in Kinnick Stadium prior to kickoff between Iowa and Michigan State. Multiple people in attendance reported Fitzgerald was spotted with his sons and some recruits from Loyola Academy on a visit to the Hawkeyes.
Fitzgerald was also spotted mixing it up with head basketball coaches Fran McCaffery and Tom Izzo who were also in attendance Saturday night.

We’ll see if any of those players wind up in Iowa City for their college careers.
As for Fitzgerald, we will have to wait and see if he finds a way back into college football during the offseason.
