Iowa got the revenge it wanted after the previous meeting against Rutgers in January, where the Scarlet Knights came away with a 48-46 win. The offense didn’t quite put up the same numbers as it on Thursday, but still managed to get the job done in a 84-74 Hawkeyes victory.

Keegan Murray kept his hot streak alive for the Hawkeyes, leading the team in scoring once again with 26 points, and breaking an Iowa school record for points scored in a single season that was previously held by Luka Garza. This performance gives Murray 750 points this year.

Other key scoring contributors for Iowa included Jordan Bohannon and Tony Perkins with 16 points each. Geo Baker lead Rutgers in scoring with 23 points.

Rutgers managed to cut the lead to 8 points late in the game, but wasn’t able to get any closer for the remainder of the game. Both teams struggled with the three ball in the 2nd half, with Iowa shooting 31% and Rutgers shooting 28% from three. Iowa was able to continue its consistency from the free-throw line that it had in the 1st half, making 92%.

The Hawkeyes were also able to win the rebounding battle against the Scarlet Knights. Iowa out-rebounded Rutgers 34-28 when it was all said and done. Both teams were also able to shoot at a respectable clip with the Hawkeyes finishing the game with a 49% field goal percentage, and Scarlet Knights shooting 44% from the field.

Iowa will now have to face the red-hot Indiana Hoosiers. The Hawkeyes won the previous matchup with the Hoosiers 83-74 in January. You can watch Iowa take on Indiana Saturday at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
