Safe to say Iowa is not having the game it hoped in the Big Ten Championship.

The 13th-ranked Hawkeyes entered the fourth quarter down 21-3 to the 2nd-ranked Michigan Wolverines. The Hawkeyes have come back from double-digit deficits already this season—they did it last weekend against Nebraska—but Michigan is a different test. And it would seem the crowd on hand at Lucas Oil Stadium feels the same way.

Two different Hawkeye fans from two different points in the game have been captured by the FOX broadcast crew, and their reactions are just perfect.

The first Sad Iowa Fan, as this distinguished club of downtrodden supporters will be referred to moving forward, showed up after Michigan’s second score of the first quarter—a reverse to running back Donovan Edwards and a throwback to an open wideout for a 75-yard score on the first play of Michigan’s third drive.

The second Sad Iowa Fan showed up near the end of the third quarter, with the Wolverines up 21-3, right before a failed 4th-down attempt inside Michigan’s 10-yard-line.

The difference here being that Sad Iowa Fan had his moment stolen by the guy in the back. You be the judge on what he said.

The sting of this moment will fade, Sad Iowa Fan, but take solace in the knowledge that memes are forever.
