Somehow, someway Iowa safety Brandon Snyder will be back on the field at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday morning, Scott Dochterman of Land of 10 reported that Snyder would not only play vs. Illinois, but would be the starter for the B1G clash. His source was Hawkeyes play-by-play announcer Gary Dolphin.

Snyder suffered an ACL injury back in April. The university only said Snyder was out indefinitely but it was hard to imagine that he would return to the field this season. Somehow, that’ll happen this weekend.

Snyder had a breakout campaign as a freshman last season, totaling 85 tackles, recording three interceptions and forcing three fumbles.

Iowa will play Illinois on BTN at noon ET.
