Iowa forward Cordell Pemsl is reportedly looking for other options outside of Iowa City to continue his college basketball career. 247Sports was the first to report the news on Friday.

Pemsl has reportedly hit the NCAA transfer portal and will explore other opportunities. The decision comes in an offseason after he appeared in 28 of Iowa’s 31 contests during the 2019-20 campaign.

This season, Pemsl averaged 2.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. He often provided the Hawkeyes with a nice spark off the bench, particularly in the second half of the season.

Iowa ended the year with a 20-11 record, which included an 11-9 mark in B1G contests.

Pemsl’s 2018-19 season was cut short after undergoing season-ending knee surgery. He appeared in just two games that year, allowing him to utilize his redshirt. The 6-foot-8 Iowa native will have one year of eligibility remaining.
