Report: Iowa hoops expected to get key contributor back for Michigan State game
Iowa’s rotation should be a little deeper Tuesday night.
David Eickholt of 247Sports is reporting that shooting guard CJ Fredrick is expected to be back in the rotation for the game against Michigan State, scheduled for a 7 p.m. ET start. No official announcement was made at the time of the report.
Fredrick missed Iowa’s game against Illinois, a game the Hawkeyes dropped 80-75. Both Iowa and Michigan State are on losing streaks, with the Hawkeyes dropping two straight (Indiana, Illinois) and the Spartans losing three in a row (Purdue, Rutgers, Ohio State).
This season, Fredrick is averaging 9.1 points and 2.4 assists per game. He’s shooting 50% from 3-point land this year, knocking down 26-of-52 attempts from the floor. He’s also known as one of the better defensive players on the roster for the Hawkeyes.
Iowa enters Tuesday’s game with a 12-4 record while Michigan State is coming into the contest with an 8-6 mark on the season.
