Report: Iowa LB enters NCAA Transfer Portal
One Iowa player reportedly entered the NCAA Transfer Portal Wednesday.
The reported player is redshirt freshman Jayden McDonald. McDonald was rated a three-star OLB from Suwannee, Georgia for the 2018 class. He originally picked the Hawkeyes over offers from Ole Miss, Kansas State, Cincinnati, and Purdue.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 215 lbs., McDonald possesses good size and athleticism. However, Iowa is switching to a 4-2-5 defense. While nothing has been confirmed, one has to wonder if the defensive switch was an impactful factor on McDonald’s reported decision to enter the portal.
