Another week, another Sam LaPorta touchdown reception.

The former Iowa tight end is already up to a pair of receptions and a touchdown catch against Detroit’s rival Green Bay Packers. Unfortunately for the Lions, Riley Patterson’s ensuing extra point attempt was no good.

This is one of likely many touchdown passes LaPorta will catch on Thanksgiving across his career. The Lions join the Cowboys in always playing on Thanksgiving.

LaPorta is having an excellent rookie season in the NFL. He’s hauled in 52 receptions for over 500 yards and now 5 touchdowns after being selected No. 34 in the 2023 NFL Draft.

He joins an already lengthy list of NFL tight ends out of Iowa, including George Kittle, TJ Hockenson and Noah Fant.
