Sam LaPorta receives injury update for NFC Championship Game
Sam LaPorta has been playing with a knee injury during the NFL playoffs run for the Detroit Lions. However, he received a positive update on Friday.
With the final injury report out for teams ahead of Sunday’s games, the Lions left LaPorta off the injury report as all clear for the NFC Championship Game. He has already been playing in spite of his injury, but it’s a good sign LaPorta has made progress while still being active.
Lions’ TE Sam LaPorta is off the injury report despite his knee injury and is good to go for Sunday’s NFC Championship Game vs. the 49ers.

In the divisional round win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, LaPorta led the Lions with 9 catches and finished second with 65 receiving yards. Though the star tight end did not find the end zone, he did produce 3 catches for 14 yards and a touchdown in playoff action against the Los Angeles Rams.
The second-round pick out of Iowa has been lighting up the NFL throughout his rookie season as one of the bright young TEs in the league. Thankfully, what originally appeared to be a disastrous knee injury to finish the regular season has not stopped him from playing solid football in the postseason.
