Iowa fans won’t get to see the seniors playing their final game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena from inside the building, but they still wanted the opportunity to send them out the right way.

Sunday morning, hours before a rivalry showdown between the No. 5 Hawkeyes and No. 25 Wisconsin, fans lined up outside Carver-Hawkeye Arena to greet and thank the seniors for an outstanding run in Iowa City. Plenty of pictures and videos made their way to social media during the event.

The Hawkeyes are preparing to play their final home game of the season against Wisconsin. Iowa is 19-7 on the year and can lock up a No. 3 seed in the B1G Tournament with a victory over the Badgers.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the B1G’s policy for general admission to games, fans haven’t been able to see the Hawkeyes in action live this year. It’s still really cool that so many turned out to thank the seniors for all their efforts over the years.

Fans will be permitted to attend the B1G Tournament (8,000 capacity at Lucas Oil Stadium) and some NCAA Tournament games, where allowed. Because of Iowa’s strong performance throughout the season, there may be a lot of Hawkeye fans in the market for those postseason tickets.

Tip-off between Iowa and Wisconsin is set for 12:30 p.m. ET and the game is airing on FOX.
