Sound familiar? Luka Garza posts double-double in NBA Summer League action

Luka Garza was a double-double machine during his time at Iowa. We saw it again Friday night in NBA Summer League action.

Garza closed out Friday night’s Summer League contest between the Pistons and Knicks with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists as Detroit recorded a 93-87 victory. He also totaled 5 blocks and posted a +8 during his time on the floor.

It wasn’t the most efficient performance for the former Hawkeye, shooting 4-of-11 from the floor and 1-of-3 from 3-point range. Still, Garza flashed his ability to do it all in Friday night’s contest.

There will be a quick turnaround for Garza and the Pistons, as they’ll take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night at 10 p.m. ET.

After being named college basketball’s consensus National Player of the Year in 2020-21, Garza was selected in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft. He was taken No. 52 overall by Detroit and is looking to carve out a roster spot before the start of the upcoming season.
