Spencer Lee is in the middle of a dominant run at Iowa, and he etched yet another chapter to kick off Friday night’s dual at Minnesota.

Facing No. 6 Patrick McKee of the Gophers, Lee found himself in a spirited battle all the way to the end. Fortunately, Lee built a 7-1 lead and a riding time advantage and was able to put things away for the 7-1 victory.

The win over McKee is another landmark one for Lee. It goes down as Lee’s 50th consecutive and the 90th overall win of his Hawkeye career.

If that’s not enough, it goes down as Lee’s 5th win over a ranked opponent in the current season.

Heading into Friday’s match, Lee was 11-0 on the season with bonus point wins in every match. Though he didn’t register a fall with McKee giving Lee a run for his money, it wasn’t enough to stop Iowa’s star at 125 pounds from adding another chapter to his dominant run.
