Spencer Petras posted disturbingly low QBR in Iowa’s Week 1 win

Spencer Petras has had better outings.
The Iowa quarterback was outscored by his own defense on the day and still managed to squeak out a win over FCS South Dakota State. ‘Rough’ doesn’t begin to describe it.
QBT (Total quarterback rating) is a metric that measures how well a Quarterback plays, adjusted by the strength of an opponent. Petras’ Week 1 outing of 11 completions for 104 yards earned him a grand total of 1.1 out of 100.
No other quarterback in the B1G scored under a 50.
Sean Clifford had the 3rd-best QBR in the B1G during Week 1 (75.4). Trailed only Ryan Hilinski (Week 0) and CJ Stroud.
By contrast, Iowa’s Spencer Petras… produced a 1.1.
That’s not a typo.

For what it’s worth, Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz said he would not be changing quarterbacks moving into Week 2.
