Spencer Petras posts positive outing for Iowa in Week 4 win over Rutgers
Iowa Hawkeyes QB Spencer Petras has had a rough start to the season. In Week 1, Petras totaled a QBR of 1 in a snooze-fest of a game that Iowa only managed to win 7-3.
The QB didn’t fare much better in Week 2, with a QBR of 3.4 through 2 games. After Week 2, Petras had thrown for only 201 yards and 2 interceptions and lost a 10-7 contest against Iowa State.
Week 4 brought a redemption arc for Petras, as he stepped up his game against Rutgers. Petras had an 80% adjusted completion % and was pressured on 9 of 21 dropbacks, good enough to be ranked the highest offensive player for the Hawkeyes, per PFF grades.
Spencer Petras was far and away the highest ranked offensive player according to Pro Football Focus. Had an 80% adjusted completion % and was pressured on 9 of 21 dropbacks.
Not eye-popping on the statsheet, but he performed well last night.

After the half, Petras and the Hawkeyes put together an offensive drive to put increased pressure on the Scarlet Knights. Petras led the Hawkeyes 75 yards on 9 plays with Leshon Williams punching in a short touchdown to give Iowa a 3-touchdown lead in the game.
Petras will be in action again on Saturday as the Hawkeyes take on No. 4 Michigan.
