As it turns out, Iowa can play offense as quarterback Spencer Petras got his first passing touchdown of the 2022 season on a 21-yard pass to Arland Bruce IV near the end of the first quarter against Nevada. That touchdown put Iowa up 14-0 going into the second quarter.

Iowa was one of the most criticized college football teams in the first two weeks of the 2022 season due to the lack of offensive production. Iowa scored a field goal and two safeties in the Week 1 7-3 win over South Dakota State. Iowa only had one offensive touchdown in the Week 2 loss to Iowa State by a score of 10-7.

Hopefully, the touchdown gives Petras some confidence moving forward.

This game against Nevada is a great chance for Iowa to gain some offensive composure and rhythm before starting B1G next week against Rutgers.
