Tom Brady will be without one of his top protectors in Sunday’s playoff game.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have ruled right tackle Tristan Wirfs inactive for the divisional round game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Wirfs is dealing with an ankle injury. He was unable to complete Tampa Bay’s Wild Card-round game against Philadelphia. He returned to practice this week but is apparently not quite full-strength.

The B1G Offensive Lineman of the Year for 2019 is in his second season with the Bucs. The Pro Football Writers of America recognized Wirfs on its all-rookie team for the 2020 season, after he started all 16 regular-season games and 4 playoff games in Tampa Bay’s Super Bowl-winning season. This season, Wirfs has been named first-team All-Pro and selected to the Pro Bowl.
