Iowa has been working on bolstering its depth at the wide receiver position with the 2020 recruiting class, and this week, the Hawkeyes are making another addition.

Three-star wide receiver Diante Vines gave Iowa a little extra reason to celebrate the 4th of July holiday this year, giving his verbal commitment on Wednesday evening. He’s the 21st player in the cycle to pledge to the Hawkeyes.

“Final Destination…IOWA,” Vines wrote on Twitter. I’m home.”

Vines is an East Coast talent, hailing from Watertown Connecticut. He’s the No. 11 player out of his home state and is ranked as one of the top 250 receivers of the cycle. Vines joins other receivers Quavon Matthews and A.J. Lawson who committed in June.

According to 247Sports, Vines had 14 total offers, five of those coming from FBS programs. Army, Boston College, Navy and Syracuse also offered the three-star receiver. Iowa beat out the other 13 schools for the 5-foot-11, 190-pound athlete, though.

Iowa still sits in the top 20 nationally in the recruiting rankings, coming in at No. 20. In the B1G, the Hawkeyes rank fourth.
