Three Iowa hoops stars to play overseas this summer
Three Iowa hoops stars and head coach Fran McCaffery will be traveling overseas this summer to take part in some exhibition games.
The Hawkeyes announced Friday that the trio of Patrick McCaffery, Keegan Murray, and Kris Murray will be traveling to Spain in August for a series of exhibition games. Head coach Fran McCaffery will also make the trip to serve as an assistant coach to a group led by Frank Martin.
Patrick McCaffery will play on the USA All-Stars Red Team coached by Larry Brown while the Murray’s will play on the USA All-Stars White Team coached by Jim Boeheim.

The trip to Spain should be a great opportunity for the trio to earn some valuable playing experience.
Keegan Murray averaged 7.2 points and 5.1 rebounds while appearing in 31 games (four starts) as a true freshman. McCaffery also appeared in 31 games and averaged 5.2 points as a redshirt freshman. Kris Murray saw action in 13 games.
