The battle for the Cy-Hawk Trophy has a new kickoff time.

On Monday, the schools announced that the annual in-state bout between Iowa and Iowa State will be moved to a 4:30 p.m. ET kickoff time (3:30 p.m. CT). The game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 11 in Ames and will air on ABC.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, last year’s Cy-Hawk game was not played. This year’s matchup should be incredibly interesting, as both the Hawkeyes and Cyclones are expected to be ranked in the preseason Top 25 when it’s released.

Iowa ended the 2020 campaign with a 6-2 record, winning the final six games of the season after an ugly 0-2 start. Iowa State was 9-3 on the year with an 8-1 record against Big 12 competition.

The Hawkeyes are currently on a five-game winning streak in the head-to-head series and own the all-time series lead 45-22. Kirk Ferentz has never lost to Matt Campbell in the rivalry series.
