The Iowa Hawkeyes special teams standout has punted 64 times this season (averaging around 6 per game) and has been a key part in Iowa’s 8-2 record thus far. And that’s not an exaggeration.
With Iowa’s offensive struggles, having a punter that can throw lawn darts deep into opposing territory as Taylor does week after week is enormous. So far this season Taylor has downed 25 of his 64 punts inside the 20, a really impressive number.
He’s averaging just under 48 yards per punt this season, which is more than half the punters in the NFL. He has just 5 touchbacks his entire college career and 3 this season. As the above post reads, Saturday against Illinois will be his final game at Kinnick Stadium.
He will exit Iowa with over 12,000 yards worth of punts.
