Tory Taylor attempted a fake punt against Ohio State. It did not work, to say the least.

Whether it was a called fake punt or something Taylor made a read on during the play is unclear. What is clear is that Taylor did not fool the Buckeyes.

After dropping back to punt on fourth down, Taylor began his approach to the kick. But as the Buckeye coverage unit ran downfield, Taylor hesitated and then broke for a run on the fake punt.

While some of the Ohio State special teams unit may have been fooled, 3 Buckeyes maintained eyes on Taylor and converged on the punter. Taylor did not reach the first-down line and was leveled by Caden Curry for the turnover deep in Iowa’s territory.

Fortunately, the Iowa defense stood tall and forced a field goal.
