In fact, the Bucs are the only team to have two starting tackles that have logged over 300 blocking snaps that are in the top-10 with regard to pass blocking grades — those two being Wirfs and Donovan Smith, per Pro Football Focus.
Wirfs is No. 1 in the NFL when it comes to pass blocking efficiency ratings, with Smith coming in at No. 9. Since Week 4 of the NFL season, both Wirfs and Smith rank in the top-4 of pass-blocking efficiency, allowing no sacks and just six pressures. Those stats cover tackles with at least 131 pass-blocking snaps over the past four weeks. No other pair have allowed as little pressure/sacks as the pair over the time span.
A three-year starter at Iowa, Wirfs was selected to the First Team All-B1G and named the conference lineman of the year after his junior season. He entered the 2020 NFL Draft forgoing his senior season.
