From the moment he said “I have to come to Iowa to meet athletes,” Donald Trump was in with the crowd. The Republican presidential candidate was on campus for a rally ahead of the Iowa caucuses. He brought football players and wrestlers on stage and marveled at their size. As you can see, Trump referred to Iowa as “we” and brought up the too-soon-to-talk-about Rose Bowl loss. But he got the crowd stirred up by saying Hawkeye quarterback C.J. Beathard is the next Tom Brady. Following their on-stage introduction, Trump then egged on a “Let’s-Go-Hawks!” chant. Clearly, he knew his priorities in Iowa.
