Doyle and the University of Iowa mutually parted ways over the summer after multiple former and current players spoke out about “racial disparities” within the Hawkeyes football program. A number of those players cited Doyle in their complaints and criticisms of the program.
Doyle was with the Hawkeyes from 1999-2019. He’s also had stops at Syracuse, Notre Dame, Holy Cross, Wisconsin and Utah before joining Ferentz’s staff. This will be Doyle’s first job with an NFL team.
Meyer is preparing to enter his first season as the head coach of the Jaguars. It will also be his first year as a head coach in the NFL.
