Ben Niemann is certainly having an impressive preseason with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The former Iowa LB has 10 tackles so far, but it was this interception Friday night that stole the show. Niemann had dropped into coverage and broke perfectly on the inaccurate pass from Atlanta Falcons QB Kurt Benkert.

He stepped on the gas and sped for the end zone, nearly taking out the referee in the process. The referee turned out to be okay and Niemann came away with the pick-six score.

The NFL shared the video of the play on Twitter:

Niemann had a nice career with the Hawkeyes and put up his best numbers as a senior in 2017. He finished the year with 77 tackles, 5 TFL, a sack, and an interception.

It remains to be seen if Niemann will land on the Chiefs final roster, but he is definitely making big plays in the preseason.
