WATCH: Botched Maryland play results in easy defensive score for Iowa

We are pretty sure this is not what Maryland was trying to do on this play.
It is hard to tell what the play was originally designed for, but the end result was a disastrous fumble for the Terrapins. Quarterback Tyrell Pigrome collided with the motion man after receiving the snap, and the ball popped free and squirted into the end zone.
No Maryland player was in the vicinity, and Iowa’s defense gobbled up the fumble for six easy points. It made the score 23-0 in a game that has been all Hawkeyes.
