Mabin was initially signed by Tampa Bay after going undrafted. After being waived by the Buccaneers, Mabin was signed by the Bills.

Mabin appeared in 36 games for the Hawkeyes during his career, tallying 144 tackles, breaking up 19 passes and grabbing three interceptions. He missed the final four games of the 2016 season due to a leg injury.
